A little bit about the design:

This peacock design is inspired by the Tholu Bommalata art form - which is the traditional puppetry practised in Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the oldest surviving shadow puppet theatres in the world, fashioned of translucent coloured leather, projected on a small screen.In Tholu lamps, the leather is cut to let points of light glisten in intricate patterns.
